To The Steel Fork on Etsy : I Think You're Tractor's Sexxxxyyyyyyyyy

Story courtesy of:

Side end table, here,  $470.

It's true, TheSteelFork Etsy shop has it going on! A shop from Bloomsberg, Pennsylvania, with many reclaimed items serving functional purposes. This handmade Farm Table Reclaimed Tractor Hood table is a real gem....I love old machinery.  Doesn't this serve as a great creative reuse functional way to save the best parts of something otherwise headed to the landfill or scrap pile?  I would love to have this in my home!

Their shop banner proudly says "There's a Farm in Every Home!"  This store is definately worth a look-see.  The rare and unique is hidden here. This table was made from an Allis Chlamers Tractor--if you aren't a tractor buff, I can only tell you how rare they are, all the way from France! What a great way to preserve parts of the item forever!

Large Rare French Tractor Bar Table, $1495, check it out.

Did I mention, you don't have to like tractors to visit this store?  There are other things creatively repurposed, such as this Cleaver Butcher Recycled Kitchen Hook.  At $75, it is a great gift idea for the person who has everything.

There's also signs made of reclaimed machinery, given new life serving as great home decor, like this!

For only $26, this sign is just the right flavor for your home!

Not only is this a great store, but their way of reclaiming items is just marvelous.  I'm sharing this with the Etsy Recyclers Guild Team first chance I get.

Kim and her mom started this business, recycling t-shirts one at a time.  Their art of transforming tees into totally useful objects may suprise you.  Have you ever seen a woven t-shirt rug, or a purse like pouch made from tees?  What about a skirt?  You will now and their craft is something special - surely to captivate and suprise you.  The colors used are vibrant and what a way to reclaim the old and make it new again.  You will find great gift ideas here.  It's hard to choose a favorite, but I'm partial to the t-rugs.

Lake Erie Beach Glass

ROYALTY Cobalt Blue Genuine Sea Glass Wire Sculpted Pendant by Lake Erie Beach Glass LEbg

Name: Jodie

Location: Erie, PA

When I asked Jodie how she got involved in her shop, this is what she had to say:

"I have always been drawn to the lake and often spend my time beachcombing the shores of Lake Erie. While beach combing my family and I began picking up trash that would accumulate and dispose of it. We then started picking up other unique items we would find and decided to recycle these items and give them new purpose through jewelry design and art. It has become a family business where everyone is involved. We live in Erie, Pennsylvania and comb the beaches from Cleveland to Buffalo. "

Jodie's shop is filled with lovely creations incorporating these wonderful finds. She is a proud member of the North American Sea Glass Association, of CAAT, and many Etsy teams! You can visit LakeErieBeachGlass on ETSY, or by clicking the following places

Colleen Attara Studio

Shop Name: Colleen Attara Studio

Location: Bucks County, PA

Name: Colleen Attara

Shop Link: http://www.colleenattarastudio.etsy.com/
Conversation Window with black frame

Colleen describes herself as an "all or nothing kind of artist." Her art is perfectly imperfect. Color themes aren't chosen for their "ability to match", but instead chosen for bold and cheerful statements. Colleen uses reclaimed and discarded goods in her work. She has working relationships with local sign shops and plastic fabrication companies that allow her to do this. Using scrap plastics and pieces of old signs are elements that allow her work to become three dimensional! An old picture frame with dents and paint drips magically transforms into something new, left with the evidence of it's former life. Her colorful eco-friendly art is a must see and makes wall decor!

Colleen says, "When I am getting ready for a show, I have a few weeks where I do nothing but create. There is paint on my face and even on the bottom of my feet. Sleep and food become less important. Coffee, music and candles become more important. Pressure spurs me and makes me even more creative. By the time this frenzy is over, I will go weeks without picking up a paintbrush. I’m lucky to have a husband and children who tolerate the ebb and flow of my creativity."
