Fom's new Orange Blossom Facial Cleanser

One company, Fom Cosmetics has this delightful smelling Orange Blossom Facial Cleanser . It's described as a natural botanical with  anti aging properties. It helps moisturize and removes your eye make up! 

So many times beauty products contain harsh chemicals (usually in the first few ingredients if we ever take time to read the label) that actually cause more harm than good. Stringent cleansers or soaps can actually strip the skin and cause allergies. Fom boasts their orange blossom facial cleanser is a natural product and has no alcohol, is skin friendly,  and packed with natural actives.  The items is also non allergic and non fragranced. So how does it smell so scrumptious?  They said, "It has a luxurious scent of orange blossom as we use floral hydrosols!"

Note: According to Wikipedia, hydrosols are herbal distillates , aqueous products of distillation. The are colloidal suspensions of essential oils as well as water soluble components obtained by steam distillation or hydro distillation from plants/herbs!

Green Lifestyle: Intelligent Eating Website To Launch Soon

The holidays are here and we always worry about over-indulging ourselves. Sadly there's a large group of folks (like myself) who think if it says "fat free" or "low fat" or "made with whole wheat" means for sure, it's good for us.  

Over the years I've learned that sadly there is a lot of marketing and propaganda that goes into food marketing.  The larger the distributor, the more money they have to spend.  Take some fruit roll ups, that contain more sugar and processing agents than fruit.  Quick and easy veggie dishes that are loaded with enough sodium to last you three weeks.  Some health food critics claim that eating common foods such as wheat flour is now linked to allergies and possibly even Rheumatoid Arthritis!  I'm the one that looks for the whole wheat bread thinking it's better than white bread, but is it?

Perhaps the real truth is it is a combination of what is put on the food while it's growing, how the food is processed, and the chemical additives to preserve it that are causing so many health issues on our culture as we age.   There are a lot of smaller groups who talk about this all the time, but imagine how thrilled I was to hear a whole website will be launching in 2014 to expose this information!

The whole site will be dedicated to intelligent eating !  Based on the work of Caldwell Esselstyn, T. Colin Campbell, Neal Barnard and Dean Ornish to name a few..this website will be dedicated to give people like you and I full unbiased information about what they eat and how it affects  our health.

From there, we can make our own choices.

Funding For The Abominable Dock Lamp Upcycled Love

Check out this,  The Abominable Dock Lamp.  What is it?  It's the nifty name for a new series of handmade lamps that double as docking stations for your phone. The prototypes have been designed by hand with clever design. Made in California, they are fashioned from reclaimed wood, recycled wine bottles, and salvaged wiring.

Different designs in the prototype line show how detailed and lovely these items are.

The prototypes are design worthy, ingenious and unique. The wine bottles are the globes, and the lights are LED.  They serve as a charging dock for your phone. Not just your phone, ANY PHONE.  How can this be? They say, "Currently, we have one block that works with every phone and tablet on the market and one block made exclusively for Apple’s 30-pin connector (iPhone 1-4S and iPad 1-2)."   That in itself makes it Tech-Savvy.  If they go into full production with backing they will quite possibly be the only 100% Handmade & Upcycled handmade lamp that also doubles as a charging port.  Their goal?  They said,  "Our goal would be to get rid of excess wiring and charging cords by making a lamp out of 100 percent recycled material that charges any phone or laptop and making the earth a cleaner place. "

I for one over the years have switched phones like I switch my t-shirts and think this is a fabulous idea. They are asking for $45,000 start up costs which includes expansion of equipment (currently they are small scale operational off of two CNC routers.) .  This also allows for a production line, a staff force and ordering additional quantities of parts via suppliers.
