They encourage others to help out as well. You can hear their interview with Matthew  here on their green blog.

In case you don't know about Environment Green, they offer green news, talks on alternative energy such as biofuels, and hybrid cars. You can read about climate change, and current global issues.  Look for green jobs in the environmental field,  hear about green and eco friendly products, and even find some interesting new issues.

I can't wait to see to how much Matthew can raise for international charity group “Global Angels” to provide water to disadvantaged children and their communities for the next 20 years.

HeavenScent Soy Candles : Eco Friendly Love

heaven Scent soy candles picture
Did you know burning Soy candles are more Eco friendly and tend to last much longer than regular wax candles? HeavenScent Soy Candles is a USA based manufacturer of soy candles, started by Lynne Trace in 2005 out of New Bloomfield, PA. I should mention the company has more than just candles.

Lynne explains the Benefits of Soy Candles:

Soy candles are made from all natural renewable ingredients. By purchasing soy candles you are helping American farmers. Once the soy beans are harvested they are pressed into wax flakes. HeavenScent Soy Candles uses these flakes along with natural dyes and scented oils to create a premium candle. These candles have a wide variety of benefits over traditional candles.
  • Made from an all natural renewable resource
  • Burns cleaner than traditional candles (No black soot around the top of the jar)
  • Supports US farmers
  • Lasts 50‰ longer than traditional candles
  • Soy Candles are made with non-toxic materials
The benefits of soy candles extend beyond the renewable source and farm benefits. When burned, soy candles last longer because they burn cooler than traditional paraffin wax candles. Additionally, soy candles are less likely to trigger allergies because they burn cleanly and do not produce as much soot and smoke. You can clearly see the difference when one of our soy candles is burned along side a leading competitor’s paraffin candle. Our candles do not produce the black ring of soot that forms at the top of many popular candle

Help Make iPod Eco Friendly : Chris and Ed Need Your Help

Eco Blaster is a new concept in eco friendly design for the iPod, wherein speakers would be made of cardboard versus plastic.  This new concept for making I-Pod more environmentally friendly didn't come from Apple, but in fact two guys--Chris and his brother Ed.

Christ says,  "This is an alternative for iPod speaker docks. The problem with modern speaker docks is that they add to our already plastic saturated environment. All of the current speaker docks are going to end up in a landfill one day when Apple decides to change the USB port of it's phone."

So they came up with an idea and design for the Eco-Blaster , which is a portable speaker made out of 100% recycled cardboard. The speakers can be used with your iPhone, iPod, or any device with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Guess what? When technology goes out the window so can your speaker dock since it will be made of cardboard that will biodegrade in a landfill unlike the plethora of plastics floating around.

Chris and Ed need your help making this dream a reality. Right now these retail for $60-$120 on the open market, but if they raise the money to put their design into motion, they can offer a $40 eco friendly alternative. As you know it takes money to get a good idea into production, and that is what they are wanting to do.

Please read the full campaign here on IndieGoGo and be a supporter! You can take advantage of the project with a $25 donation and get perks, but if not you can go to the bottom and contribute as little as $1 towards this cause, to help them reach their goal. Let's make the world a greener place!
